A desktop computer is a personal computer (PC) in a form intended for regular use at a single location, as opposed to a mobile laptop or portable computer.  There are several leading desktop system companies.  A lot of the reasons one may by on computer system over another may deal with the brand-name, different features, and even the price range that is available for the features that a consumer my want.

Buying a computer is almost like purchasing a car.  You could get an economy car or you could ride in luxury.  And of course, the prices reflect the type of computer that you are purchasing.  The technology is changing at a rapid pace for computer technology.  There is no way that you can always be on top of that technology.  Grabbing a PC that has the functionality that you need, can be expanded and upgraded, and is within your price range should be the more important considerations when purchasing a new or used computer system.
