have a router and had the desktop hooked to the router, then went through a storm and now the internet isn't connecting on the desktop with the wire connected from the router to the computer tower we have laptops and they do connect to the internet and everything is fine but we just can't get internet on the desktop

QUESTION: so can i just get wireless internet on that desktop?? how can i do that??

Yes you can have a wireless desktop. You would simply have to purchase a internal wireless network interface card (NIC) or an external USB wireless NIC.

However, if the desktop is wired, it would have a faster connection speed to the Internet. And in order to get your computer wired again, you would just have to get an internal NIC card. They're usually pretty cheap, but you do have to open the computer case to install it.
