Solution:
1. Open Old version of AVG interface, verify that the customer still has a valid license and then proceed to the HELP tab (Top Toolbar) and get the old license number. (You can’t copy and paste, so you will have to type in the notepad.)
2. Go to this website:
www.avg.com/in-en/upgrade-7-8
3. Copy and Paste old license number into field and click on “Upgrade to AVG 9.0”
4. The next page will display the 9.0 License Number and also allows you to enter in the customer email to send them the License Number as well.
5. Copy the new and old license number into your notes
6. Then go to this website:
www.avg.com/us-en/download
7. Find the customer current software title (ex: AVG Internet Security or AVG Antivirus, etc.) and click on paid version version, then paid version download.
8. Download will begin, some of these downloads can be lengthy, so I advise to have customer call back when it’s done or take another ticket.
9. Then proceed with normal steps of installing AVG Software
Also remember that AVG 9.0 has minimum requirements that will cause the download to fail if not met.
