Symptoms:
Installation of AVG 9 fails and gives error "MSVC Redistributables Installation Failed. Installation Of AVG Cannot Continue."
Cause:
Windows Installer Service may be unregistered, damaged or may have permissions issues.
Fix:
1. Log on to your computer as an administrator.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
4. At the command prompt, type msiexec.exe /unregister, and then press ENTER.
5. Type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.
If that doesn't work you may have to make sure system has full permissions on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT in the registry. Reboot afterwards if you make any changes.
