AVG Does Not Display a GUI Interface after install 2 Years ago Karma: 0
This may be caused by not having a good install or a nonexistant install of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005. Since AVG appears to rely upon this. Check the Event viewer for errors related to this, and if you can confirm, go to this site to redownload and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package:

Note: This only applies to x86 versions of Windows XP.
